How to Craft a Saddle in Minecraft
To craft a saddle in Minecraft you need three leather and one iron ingot. Pick up leather once so the recipe book unlocks, then open a Crafting Table and build the horseshoe. Below are the items, the recipe, and where the leather comes from.

Iron IngotLeather and the ingot
Kill cows in the Overworld for leather, or take it from horses, llamas, and hoglins. Three pieces are enough. The iron ingot is one smelted iron ore — a stone pickaxe mines the ore, a furnace turns it into the bar. On Java 1.21.6 and Bedrock 1.21.90 the recipe appears after the first leather you pick up; older worlds still hunt chests and leatherworker trades instead.
The horseshoe on the table
Open the Crafting Table. Put leather in the center square. Put leather in the bottom-left and bottom-right. Put the iron ingot in the bottom-middle, between those two. The saddle shows on the right; drag it into your inventory.
Putting it on a mob
Use the saddle on a tamed horse, donkey, mule, camel, pig, or strider. You still need a carrot on a stick for the pig and a warped fungus on a stick for the strider if you want to steer.
