How to Craft a Crafting Table in Minecraft
To craft a Crafting Table in Minecraft you need four wooden planks. Open your inventory and put one plank in each square of the 2×2 grid. Below are the items, the recipe, and how those planks come from a log.

Four planks in the inventory
Open the inventory. The 2×2 grid sits in the top-right of that screen — that is the station for this craft. Drop one Wooden Plank in each of the four squares. When every slot is filled, the Crafting Table appears on the right. Drag it onto a hotbar slot.
From a log
Punch a tree until a log drops. Put that log in any single square of the same 2×2: one log becomes four planks, which is exactly one table. Oak, birch, spruce and the rest all count, and mixed planks still make the same table. Take the planks out, then fill the four squares again.
Place it and open the 3×3
Put the block on the ground and use it. That opens the 3×3 grid, where the chest, tools and the rest of early survival happen. Break it with a hand or an axe if you need to move camp; the table drops itself.
