Eight nuggets around a slice
Break a grown melon for slices; keep one. One gold ingot in the inventory 2×2 becomes nine nuggets; keep eight. Zombified piglins in the Nether also drop nuggets.
Slice in the center
Open the Crafting Table. Put the melon slice in the very center square. Fill the other eight squares with gold nuggets. One glistering melon appears on the right; take it. This ring needs the 3×3 table.
Healing in the stand
On a brewing stand an awkward potion plus a glistering melon becomes a potion of healing. A golden carrot uses the same nugget ring around a carrot for night vision. Eat the plain melon slice if you only want the hunger.
