How to Craft a Ladder in Minecraft
To craft a ladder in Minecraft you need seven sticks. On the Crafting Table fill the left and right columns and put one more stick in the center square — an H — and three ladders come out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where those sticks come from.

How to craft these materials
Seven sticks
Punch a log and convert it in the inventory 2×2: one log is four planks. Two planks stacked make four sticks; do that twice and you have eight. Take seven for this craft. Oak is the usual first wood.
An H on the table
Open the Crafting Table. Fill the left column with three sticks and the right column with three sticks. Drop the seventh stick in the very center and leave the top-middle and bottom-middle empty. Three ladders appear on the right; take them. The 2×2 inventory cannot hold this shape.
On the side of a block
Place the ladder on the side of a solid block — not on the top face or the bottom. Walk into it to climb. Hold sneak to stay put. Break it with your hand or an axe to pick it back up; ladders stack to sixty-four.
