How to Craft a Stick in Minecraft
To craft a stick in Minecraft you need two wooden planks stacked one above the other. Open the inventory 2×2, put one plank on top of the other, and four sticks come out on the right. Below are the items, the recipe, and how those planks come from a log.

How to craft these materials
Wooden Planks
Oak Log
Wooden Planks ×4Shapeless: the slots can sit anywhere on the grid.
From a log to four planks
Punch a tree until a log drops. Put that log in any square of the inventory 2×2: one log becomes four planks. Oak, birch, spruce, crimson — any wood type counts. One log is enough for eight sticks once you stack the planks.
Two planks in a column
Open the inventory 2×2 or the Crafting Table. Drop one plank, then another directly under it — left column or right, same result. Four sticks appear on the right; take them. Two bamboo stacked the same way make one stick if you harvested a jungle.
Handles and torches
The sticks go into a wooden pickaxe, a torch, a sign, a fishing rod. Keep a stack on the hotbar. One log covers eight sticks, and that is already a first night of tools.
