How to Craft a Spear in Minecraft
To craft a spear in Minecraft you need one wooden plank and two sticks. On the Crafting Table put the plank in the top-right square and the two sticks on a diagonal under it — bottom-left and center — and one wooden spear comes out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where those pieces come from.

Wooden Planks

One plank, two sticks
Punch a log and convert it in the inventory 2×2: one log is four planks. You need one for the tip. Two planks stacked make four sticks; take two for the shaft. Oak is the usual first wood.
A lean on the table
Open the Crafting Table. Drop the plank in the top-right square, one stick in the exact center, and the other stick in the bottom-left corner. One wooden spear appears on the right; take it. The 2×2 inventory cannot hold this diagonal.
Poke from farther away
Equip it and click to jab: the point reaches farther than a sword. Hold use and run at a mob to charge — speed adds to the hit. Wooden spears do not stack. Swap the plank for cobblestone on the same lean when you want the next tip.
