How to Craft a Powered Rail in Minecraft
To craft powered rails in Minecraft you need six gold ingots, one stick, and one redstone dust. On the Crafting Table fill both side columns with gold, put the stick in the center and the dust under it, and six powered rails come out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where those pieces come from.

How to craft these materials
Six gold, a stick, redstone
Mine gold ore with an iron pickaxe or better and smelt six ingots. Two planks stacked make four sticks; take one. Redstone ore also needs iron; one dust sits under the stick. That covers one batch of six.
Gold on both sides
Open the Crafting Table. Three gold down the left column, three down the right, the stick in the exact center, redstone in the bottom-middle. Six powered rails appear on the right; take them. The 2×2 inventory cannot hold this shape.
Power it to run
Place it on a solid block in a line of regular rails. A powered rail with a lever, redstone torch or redstone block next to it speeds a minecart. Without that signal the same piece brakes the cart to a stop. A pickaxe picks the rail back up.
