How to craft these materials
Wooden Planks
Oak Log
Wooden Planks ×4Shapeless: the slots can sit anywhere on the grid.
One plank, two sticks
Punch a log and convert it in the inventory 2×2: one log is four planks, and this craft uses one. Two planks stacked make four sticks; take two for the handle. That covers the whole wooden shovel.
A column down the middle
Open the Crafting Table. Drop a plank in the top-middle square, a stick in the very center, and the other stick in the bottom-middle. One wooden shovel appears on the right; take it. The handle matches the pickaxe; the head is that one plank.
Dirt, sand, then a path
Hold it on dirt, sand, or gravel and the block drops fast. Use it on a grass block to stamp a dirt path under your feet. Snow under the shovel drops snowballs. Wooden shovels do not stack.
