How to Craft a Hoe in Minecraft
To craft a hoe in Minecraft you need two wooden planks and two sticks. On the Crafting Table put the two planks side by side on the top row and the two sticks in a column under the inner plank. Below are the items, the recipe, and where those pieces come from.

Two planks, two sticks
Punch a log and convert it in the inventory 2×2: one log is four planks, and this craft uses two. The other two stacked make four sticks; take two for the handle. That covers the whole wooden hoe.
Two on top, sticks under
Open the Crafting Table. Drop two planks in the first two squares of the top row. A stick goes in the very center, the other in the bottom-middle. One wooden hoe appears on the right; take it. The handle matches the shovel; the head is those two planks.
Till, then plant
Use it on grass, dirt, or a dirt path with air above the block. The surface becomes farmland. Drop wheat seeds on that soil. Leaves and hay break faster under the hoe. Wooden hoes do not stack.
