How to Craft a Bed in Minecraft
To craft a bed in Minecraft you need three wool of the same color and three wooden planks. On the Crafting Table lay the wool in a row and put the planks in the row right under them. Below are the items, the recipe, and where the wool comes from.

Three wool, three planks
Find sheep on grass in the Overworld. Shear an adult for one to three wool and leave it alive so it eats grass and grows more; killing it drops a single block. White sheep are the common spawn, so a white bed is the usual first night. Punch a log and turn it into planks in the inventory 2×2 — one log already covers the three planks.
Wool over the wood
Open the Crafting Table. Put wool in the left, middle, and right of the middle row, then planks in the three squares under that. The top row can stay empty. One bed appears on the right. The three wool have to match; the planks can mix oak with birch or whatever you have.
Two blocks on the floor
Place the bed on two clear floor blocks. Use it at night or in a thunderstorm to skip to morning and set your spawn there. Keep a solid roof over it so a mob cannot stand on the pillow. If you move camp, pick the bed up and place it again before you sleep.
