How to Craft Wool in Minecraft
To craft wool in Minecraft you need four string. Fill the four squares of the inventory 2×2, and one white wool comes out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where that string comes from.

Four string
Kill spiders or cave spiders until four string drop. A sword on cobwebs also cuts string. Cats sometimes drop a piece. Keep four for one block. Shears on an adult sheep still give wool in the field if you already found a flock.
Fill the 2×2
Open the inventory. Put string in every square of the 2×2 crafting grid. One white wool appears on the right; take it. The same square works on a Crafting Table. Dye later if you want another color; this craft is the white block.
A bed, then a floor
Three matching wool over three planks make a bed. Two wool in a row make three carpets. Place the block anywhere; any tool breaks it and the wool drops. It burns if fire or lava touches it.
