How to Craft Shears in Minecraft
To craft shears in Minecraft you need two iron ingots. Put them on a diagonal: in the inventory 2×2, top-right and bottom-left, or the same tilt on a Crafting Table, and one pair comes out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where that iron comes from.

How to craft these materials
Iron Ingot
1 Raw Iron
Iron IngotTwo iron ingots
Mine iron ore with a stone pickaxe or better. Open a furnace, raw iron on top, fuel underneath. Two ingots cover this craft. A zombie or an iron golem can drop a bar too.
A diagonal
Open your inventory or a Crafting Table. In the 2×2 put one ingot in the top-right square and the other in the bottom-left. On the 3×3 table that same tilt is top-middle and middle-left. One pair of shears appears on the right; take it.
Wool without killing the sheep
Use the shears on a sheep: one to three wool, the sheep walks off. Break leaves or a cobweb with them and the block drops as an item. Use them on a pumpkin to carve a face. A shepherd's chest in a village can hold a spare pair.
