How to Craft a Furnace in Minecraft
To craft a furnace in Minecraft you need eight cobblestone. On the Crafting Table fill every square except the middle — leave that hole empty — and one furnace comes out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where that cobble comes from.

Eight cobblestone
Craft a wooden pickaxe first if you still punch stone with your fist. Mine the gray stone on a hillside or in a shallow hole: each block drops cobblestone. Eight pieces cover the ring. Blackstone from the Nether and cobbled deepslate from the deep caves sit in the same slots if that is what you already have.
A ring on the table
Open the Crafting Table. Fill the top row, the bottom row, and both sides of the middle row with cobblestone. Leave the center empty. One furnace appears on the right; take it. This ring needs the 3×3 table.
Ore on top, fuel under
Place it on the ground and open it. The item to cook goes in the top slot — raw iron, sand, a log, even cobblestone itself. Fuel goes underneath: coal, charcoal, or another log. When the arrow fills, take the result on the right. Sand becomes glass; a log becomes charcoal.
