How to Craft a Dried Ghast in Minecraft
To craft a dried ghast in Minecraft you need eight ghast tears and one soul sand. On the Crafting Table fill every square with tears and put the soul sand in the exact center, and one dried ghast comes out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where those pieces come from.

Eight tears, one soul sand
Fight ghasts over the lava seas in the Nether; each kill can drop a tear, and this recipe wants eight. Soul sand is the brown block under Nether fortresses and soul sand valleys; one block sits in the middle. Bring a fire resistance potion off a brewing stand if the lava keeps catching you.
Tears around the sand
Open the Crafting Table. Drop the soul sand in the very center, then ghast tears in the other eight squares. One dried ghast appears on the right; take it. The 2×2 inventory cannot hold this ring.
Water brings it back
Place the block, then cover it with water. After about twenty minutes it becomes a ghastling, then a happy ghast you can ride. A pickaxe breaks the dried block. Dried ghasts stack to sixty-four.
