How to Craft Horse Armor in Minecraft
To craft horse armor in Minecraft you need seven leather. On the Crafting Table lay leather on both sides of the top row, all three of the middle, and both sides of the bottom, and one leather horse armor comes out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where that leather comes from.

Seven leather
Cows drop leather. Seven hides cover this shape. That is the whole list for the leather set. Iron, gold and diamond horse armor sit in dungeon, desert temple, ruined portal and village chests.

Open the Crafting Table. Top: leather, empty, leather. Middle: three leather. Bottom: leather, empty, leather. One leather horse armor appears on the right; take it. The 2×2 inventory cannot hold this 3×3.
On a tamed horse
Tame a horse, open its inventory, and drop the armor in the horse slot. Donkeys and mules do not take horse armor. A saddle goes in the other slot if you want to ride. Horse armor does not stack.
