How to Craft Mud Bricks in Minecraft
To craft mud bricks in Minecraft you need four packed mud. Put those four in a 2×2 square on the Crafting Table or in the inventory, and four mud bricks come out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where that packed mud comes from.

Four packed mud
Use a water bottle on dirt to make mud, or dig mud in a mangrove swamp. Combine that mud with wheat in any two squares of the inventory 2×2; one packed mud comes out. Repeat until you have four. A brick block uses clay instead; this one stays mud.
A 2×2 of packed mud
Open the inventory 2×2 or the Crafting Table. Put packed mud in all four squares of a 2×2. Four mud bricks appear on the right; take them. You do not need a furnace for this step.
Warm walls that still break with a pick
Place them like stone bricks. They take a pickaxe to break and they drop as mud bricks. Stairs and slabs of the same mud exist once you have extra blocks. Four from one craft covers a small wall.
