How to Craft Scaffolding in Minecraft
To craft scaffolding in Minecraft you need six bamboo and one string. On the Crafting Table fill both side columns with bamboo and put the string in the top-middle, and six scaffolding come out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where those pieces come from.

Six bamboo, one string
Bamboo grows in jungle and bamboo biomes; break six stalks. Spiders drop string; one strand sits in the top-middle. That covers one batch of six.
Bamboo down both sides
Open the Crafting Table. Three bamboo down the left column, three down the right, string in the top-middle. Leave the center and bottom-middle empty. Six scaffolding appear on the right; take them. The 2×2 inventory cannot hold this 3×3.
Climb the hollow column
Place one, then keep placing on the top face to grow a tower. Walk into the block to climb, like a ladder you stand inside. Sneak and aim at the bottom face to hang a piece downward. Breaking the lowest block drops the whole stack above it. An axe breaks scaffolding.
