How to Craft Flint and Steel in Minecraft
To craft flint and steel in Minecraft you need one iron ingot and one flint. Drop both in the inventory 2×2; the squares can sit anywhere, and one flint and steel comes out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where those pieces come from.

How to craft these materials
Iron Ingot
1 Raw Iron
Iron IngotOne ingot, one flint
Mine iron ore with a stone pickaxe or better and smelt the ingot in a furnace. Dig gravel until flint pops; gravel next to water or in caves drops it often. That is the whole pair.
Anywhere in the 2×2
Open your inventory. Put the ingot in one square of the 2×2 and the flint in another. A Crafting Table works the same way: the two pieces can sit in any two slots. One flint and steel appears on the right; take it.
Spark on obsidian
Use it on a block to start a fire. Four extra obsidian in a portal frame catch from that spark and open the Nether. Use it on a TNT block to light the fuse. Flint and steel does not stack.
