How to Craft Paper in Minecraft

To craft paper in Minecraft you need three sugar cane. On the Crafting Table lay them in any horizontal row and you get three sheets. Below are the items, the recipe, and where the cane grows.

Sugar cane by the water

Walk riverbanks, beaches, swamps, and desert shores until you see the tall green stalks against a water block. Break the top pieces and leave the bottom on dirt, sand, or grass; it grows back if water still touches the side of that block. Three cane is one craft.

Three in a row

The inventory 2×2 is too small for this line, so open a Crafting Table. Put sugar cane in the left, middle, and right of the same row — top, middle, or bottom, all work. Three paper appear on the right. Repeat while the farm ticks.
