How to Craft a Candle in Minecraft
To craft a candle in Minecraft you need one string and one honeycomb. Put the string on top of the honeycomb in the inventory 2×2, and one candle comes out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where those pieces come from.

String over honeycomb
Spiders drop string. Honeycomb comes from a full bee nest: put a campfire under the nest so the bees stay calm, then use shears. A crafted beehive works the same way. One string and one honeycomb cover the craft.
String in the square above
Open the inventory 2×2. Put string in the top-left and honeycomb directly under it. One candle appears on the right; take it. The same stack works on a Crafting Table.
Up to four on one block
Place the candle, then use flint and steel to light it. You can stack up to four candles on the same block; each extra one adds light. A candle on a cake sits in the frosting until you eat the last slice.
