How to Craft Iron Bars in Minecraft
To craft iron bars in Minecraft you need six iron ingots. On the Crafting Table fill two rows of three with iron, and sixteen bars come out. Below are the items, the recipe, and where that iron comes from.

Mine iron ore with a stone pickaxe and smelt six ingots in a furnace. A chain uses two nuggets around one ingot; this craft wants six full ingots.
Two rows of three
Open the Crafting Table. Put iron ingots across the top row and across the middle row, all six squares. Leave the bottom row empty. Sixteen iron bars appear on the right; take them. This 2×3 needs the 3×3 table.
A window that still sees
Place them like glass panes. They connect to neighbors and leave a gap you can look through. Mobs cannot walk through. A stone pickaxe breaks them and they drop as bars. Sixteen is enough for a long corridor.
