How to Craft an Activator Rail in Minecraft
To craft an activator rail in Minecraft you need six iron ingots, two sticks, and one redstone torch. On the Crafting Table put iron down both sides, sticks in the top and bottom middle, and the torch in the center, and six activator rails come out. Mine iron ore with a stone pickaxe and smelt six ingots in a furnace. Two sticks come from planks in the inventory 2×2. A redstone torch is redstone dust on a stick; that pair sits in the 2×2 as well.

Open the Crafting Table. Top: iron, stick, iron. Middle: iron, redstone torch, iron. Bottom: iron, stick, iron. Six activator rails appear on the right; take them. The 2×2 inventory cannot hold this 3×3.
A cart that does something
Place it in a rail line and power it with redstone. A minecart that rolls over a powered activator ejects the rider, or lights a TNT cart. A powered rail still pushes; this one only triggers. A pickaxe picks the activator rail back up.
